What is Scrip?

• SCRIP is a term that means "substitute money". When you purchase SCRIP, you’re simply purchasing gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. By buying these cards through the school you help earn revenue for St. Joseph School. This helps keep your tuition costs down at no additional expense to you.  Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, and even gasoline can be purchased with SCRIP! So the money we raise comes from the businesses you frequent, not from you! Please consider using SCRIP in your everyday purchases. Every little bit will help raise money for the school and our kids! 

 

How does Scrip generate revenue for the school?

• When large amounts of SCRIP are purchased from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a discount because they're guaranteeing themselves customers and some goodwill advertising. St. Joseph's School buys the gift cards at a discount, and re-sells the gift cards to families like yours for full face value. The $10 Gift Card you purchase is worth the full $10 at the store just like cash. 

 

Who can buy Scrip?

• Anyone can submit a Scrip Order! Give your parents, grandparents, and friends a copy of the Scrip Order Form and let them buy their gift cards through our school! The more people who participate, the more money the school makes!

 

How can I buy Scrip?

• One way is by printing and using the Scrip order form found on this website and sent home each week via the school newsletter. Place your completed Scrip Order Form  along with Cash or Check (Check payable to St. Joseph School Scrip) into an envelope and bring it to school. Our drop off / pick up days are a great day to place your order but you may drop your order off at the office any day during our regular office hours. All payments must be for the exact amount of the order. 

• Another way is by setting up an account on shopwithscrip.com which offers  hundreds of Scrip products and does not require any sensitive personal or financial information. When you register, please use our school enrollment code CAC3A8FL23859 then follow the instructions to place an order. Orders will be sent to the school and you pay when you come to pick it up. We will let you know when it is ready for pick up.

What is eScrip?

• In addition to purchasing Scrip gift cards, you can raise additional money for the school by using the eScrip programs supported by many local business. See the eScrip website (www.escrip.com) for a complete list of participating merchants. Just click "Sign Up - It's Free" and enter Group ID #: 137605300 to ensure the donation goes to St. Joseph's School. For example, if you register your Macy's Charge Card with the eScrip site, a percentage of your qualified purchases will go to St. Joseph's School.

 

Can I use Scrip to pay my charge account bill?

• Some stores allow you to make payments on your store charge account with SCRIP at their service desks. Check with the individual store.

 

What happens if my check bounces?

• You will be charged $20 for a bounced check. Any account with 2 returned checks will be put on a cash only basis.
